Will the NBA get the finals match up they want?

As the NBA playoffs continue  I can’t help but seeing a reoccurring theme. NBA wants Lebron vs Kobe, not Lakers vs Cavs or any one team against another. Usually they would settle for just big names on two teams but this season it is clear that they want only one match up. It almost seems like if they could change the NBA Finals to a one on one game they would love it. While the Cavs are down 3-2 David Stern is pulling his hair out in his office. He would hate to see his precious Lebron go down to the Magic because he knows # 23 will sell more jersey’s than # 12. They were pretty obvious even in the middle of the regular season but now they are just transparent. With the whole Ernie and Bert angle that Nike Basketball is trying to pull with Lebron and Kobe the situation just got out of hand. That is what the NBA is turning into though, all marketing and merchandise sales. The big-wigs in the top offices are only caring about the tv ratings for new television contracts and jersey sales. They are trying to create a rivalry that just is not there yet and honestly I don’t think it will ever be there unless of course Lebron goes to Knicks or somewhere more prestigious.

Now I have to give Kobe credit because he seems to absolutely hate this whole thing the NBA is trying to do. He hates it because he knows that it is not real. Also anyone who knows basketball realizes that this whole Lebron-Kobe situation is not real at all. I did gain something out of this though I must say.

I saw Rashard Lewis grow up in front of me(I have to take back my coward comment for now)and Mr. Dwight Howard has shown something to me too. Hes for real, that man is no joke. He dominates the paint and when he develops a go to move he will be near unstoppable. Too bad for him he will never have a muppet commercial because as Greg Oden said in one of his commercials “big men arent marketable” but you know what is marketable, good basketball. I’m will not sit here and call Dwight Superman because I hate that but I will say I hope he dunk, blocks, and flexes his way into the Finals just so i can see the NBA executives soil themselves when all their marketing schemes are for nothing.
