Times have changed

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Sitting here reading an article out of the LA Times about Manny I started to think about his suspension. Mostly because in L.A they are still treating him like a hero. It seems like the people out there think he is out serving his country during his 50 game suspension because they are not angry. Everyone still looks at him like he’s their savior but in truth he just another cheater.

For a player to be sitting at home, away from the game and his teammates and still get idolize is just sickening. That say’s a lot about LA and the fans they have out there, not to mention the organization. Frank McCourt in an interview a few days ago said he would like to see Manny in the all star game and that it would be an honor. An honor? This man says he would be honored for his organization to be represented by a drug test failing cheater. This man is a true character my friends.

Never the less I am still a fan of the game but after learning the history of our national pastime it is clear to see that the game just isn’t the same. Most of the time when a player would be leaving the season for an extended period of time they were more than likely serving their country. Now it’s all about steroids, tainted records, and the Yankee’s throwing a bunch of money at player that doesn’t deserve it .Well at least somethings haven’t changed.
